The laws of anointing with oil and wearing shoes |
דיני סיכה ונעיל' הסנדל: |
614:1[edit]It is forbidden to anoint onself [with oil], even just part of the body and even if it is only to remove sweat. However, if one is sick, even if not in danger, or if one has scabs on their head, it is permitted. |
סעיף א אסור לסוך אפילו מקצת גופו ואפילו אינו אלא להעביר הזוהמא אבל אם הוא חולה אפילו אין בו סכנה או שיש לו חטטין בראשו מותר: |
614:2[edit]It is prohibited to wear leather sandals or shoes. This even applies to the prosthetic of an amputee or the like. Even something that is made of wood but covered in leather is forbidden. If they are made of silk, straw, cloth, or other material, it is permitted even to go out in public wearing them. (And it is permitted to stand on leather pillows and sheets, though one who is stringent will receive blessings (Mordechai on Yoma and Trumat Hadeshen 149).) |
סעיף ב אסור לנעול סנדל או מנעל של עור אפי' קב הקיטע וכיוצא בו אפי' של עץ ומחופה עור אסור אבל של גמי או של קש או של בגד או של שאר מינים מותר אפילו לצאת בהם לרשות הרבים (ומותר לעמוד על כרים וכסתות של עור ומ"מ המחמיר תבא עליו ברכה) (מרדכי דיומא ותה"ד סי' קמ"ט): |
614:3[edit]A woman who has given birth is permitted to wear shoes for thirty days. A sick person is similar even if not in danger. The same applies to somebody who has an injured foot. |
סעיף ג החיה כל שלשים יום מותרת לנעול את הסנדל והחולה כיוצא בו אע"פ שאין בו סכנה וכן מי שיש לו מכה ברגליו: |
614:4[edit]Anybody is permitted to wear shoes to avoid scorpions or the like to avoid getting bitten if there are scorpions or other biting things around. Rem"a: If rain fell and somebody gots to get from their home to synagogue or vice versa and they are delicate, they are permitted to wear shoes until they arrive (Mahari"l). |
סעיף ד מותר כל אדם לנעול סנדל מחמת עקרב וכיוצא בו כדי שלא ישכנו אם מצויים שם עקרבים או דברים הנושכים: הגה ואם ירדו גשמים ורוצה לילך לביתו מבהכ"נ או להיפך והוא איסטניס מותר לנעול מנעליו עד שמגיע למקומו (מהרי"ל): |
