693:1[edit]After the nighttime megillah reading, we say "vAtah kadosh." If it is Saturday night, we say "vihi noam" before "vAtah kadosh." Rem"a: We say "veyiten lecha," read the megillah, and then say Havdalah (Minhagim). |
סעיף א אחר קריאת המגילה בערבית אומר ואתה קדוש ואם חל במוצאי שבת אומר ויהי נועם קודם ואתה קדוש: הגה ואומר ויתן לך וקורים המגילה ואח"כ מבדילים (מנהגים): |
693:2[edit]We say "al hanisim" at night and during the day. Rem"a: If it is not said, one need not repeat (Tur). We only say "al hanisim" on the 14th but not on the 15th (Beit Yosef in the name of Orkhot Hayyim and Minhagim). On the night of the 14th, even though we have not read the megillah yet, we say "al hanisim" in Arvit (Hagahot Maimoni ch. 2). |

693:4[edit]We take out a Torah scroll and read the section "Amalek came" [Exodus 17:8]. Even though it only has nine verses, we repeat the last verse to bring it up to ten verses. Rem"a: The custom is to not repeat the last verse of the section. We read the Megillah and then do the Kedusha sequence. Rem"a: When there is a bris on Purim, we do the circumcision before the megillah reading (Mahari"l and Minhagim). |
