Novel by Grazia Deledda

Grazia Deledda was the first (and so far the only) Italian woman to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature. Yet we have no works by her. In fact our coverage of Italian literature is abysmal. Her best-loved novel is Canne al vento, but the only English translation of that novel is still under copyright. The Lay of the Nibelungs

  • The Lay of the Nibelungs: Metrically Translated from the Old German Text, 2nd ed., transl. Alice Horton (1901) (external scan)

The Real Charlotte

An Irish novel which is considered to be a masterpiece today, written by 2 novelists as a collaborative pair, Edith Anna Œnone Somerville and Violet Florence Martin. We don’t have any works by either of these authors. Tristram (Robinson)

The Romance of Tristan and Iseult is one of the most important stories in medieval literature. We don't have out copy scan-backed yet; our current copy dates from 2006. The story was compiled in French by Joseph Bédier, and this edition was translated into English by Hilaire Belloc.
