Wikisource:WikiProject Women Writers
Project Overview[edit]
Inspired by some of the other areas in Wikimedia, I have set up a project to start to improve the representation of women in fully transcribed works on Wikisource. I was inspired to start this as I have carried out some work in Wikisource for a previous job, and have also heard several people speak about the projects to get more women into Wikipedia, so thought I could combine the two areas.
Please feel free to add any suggestions or further points to look at in this area. I recognise that my own awareness of women authors is limited by my own personal research - so if you do have suggestions, particularly to further improve the diversity of the writers represented in other ways than ‘gender’, please go ahead.
Going forward, I would like to start doing themed monthly focuses to get content added, or link in this project to other Wikiprojects on other Wiki-platforms, but at the moment am just looking to get started.
Ongoing Works[edit]
I don't really have any goals for this yet, so might just see how much I am able to get added and then add some metrics here. In the meantime, here are some other authors and works which I think could be next:

Author:Rachilde
Rachilde's wikipedia can be found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rachilde but they do not yet have a Wikisource entry - I will look into this, and get their work added.

I recognise that my own awareness of women authors is limited by my own personal research (currently, lots of Victorian women so apologies for the quite long works!) so if you do have any suggested works or writers to add to the list go ahead.
