Pemberton, Edward Robert, s. Thomas Butcher, of Northampton (town), arm. Exeter Coll., matric. 24 April, 1811, aged 18; B.A. from University Coll. 1814, M.A. 1817, D.C.L. 1823, a student of the Inner Temple 1812, migrated to Lincoln's Inn 1813, vicar of St. Sepulchre's, Northampton, 1819-22, chaplain Chapel Royal, Brighton, 1822-30), rector of Milton, and perp. curate Hartwell, Northants, 1835-44, assumed the surname of Pembertonin lieu of Butcher 1842, vicar of Wandsworth 1844-50, rector of St. Mary Steps, Exeter, 1855-6, in charge of Sternfield, Suffolk, 1867-72, vicar of Shipley 1872-3, and of Somerby, co. Lincoln, 1873-4, rector of North Huish, Devon, 1874, until his death 11 Jan., 1879. See Rugby School Reg., 87.
