Exeter Coll., matric. 21 May, 1833, aged 46; M.A. by decree 24 May, 1833, F.R.S., Boden professor of Sanskrit 1832-60, assistant-surgeon Bengal establishment 1808, of the Calcutta mint, secretary of the Asiatic Society of Bengal 1812, librarian to the East India Company 1836, until his death 23 May, 1860, father of Charles Thomas 1834.
