Also known as the Chronicle of Britain. Written sometime between 1190 and 1215 in a peculiar form of Middle English which avoids Anglo-Norman borrowings and revives large amounts of Old English.

Two manuscripts are extant: the "Caligula" manuscript and the "Otho" manuscript.
