ARCOT, AZIM JAH, PRINCE OF (1800–1874)

Uncle of Muhammad Ghaus (q.v.), the Nawab of the Carnatic, whom he succeeded, but only as the first Prince of Arcot, the title granted to him in 1867, with a pension and various concessions, a personal salute of 15 guns, etc.: died Jan. 14, 1874.
