Description
English: Facsimile of a figure in the arms of the city of Frankfort-on-Main (see Jost Amman, Wappen und Stammbuck (1589) — a reprint in facsimile has been published by Georg Hirth as vol. iii. of Liebhaber Bibliothek, Munich, 1881). A putti plays an immense cornua. The bore of the instrument is of a calibre suggestive of the contrabass tuba.
