Description
English: Picture from the lower right of page 11. In a bay about 1901, with ships in the background, a small steamboat is tugging a rowboat and a raft; the raft is pulling another rowboat – the boat the photographer is in. The caption is "In a sampan." According to a dictionary, a sampan is a type of rowboat, which sometimes has one oar attached at the back similar to where the motor of a motorboat is located.
