Description
English: Topographical and political map of the state of Alaska, 1921. The wide red lines delimit the four judicial divisions in place then, while the narrow red lines correspond with railroads. At least some of the red lines appear to be displaced to the north and east from their correct locations. (This is most apparent for the railroads; the southern termini of the Alaska, Copper River, and Yukon & White Pass Railroads should be Seward, Cordova, and Skagway, respectively. The Alaska Railroad should run along the north shore of Turnagain Arm, cross the Tanana river at Nenana, and reach Fairbanks.) The routes of the Military Cable from Sitka to Valdez and of the Military Telegraph from Valdez to Fairbanks, Tanana, and St Michael are marked. A cable from St Michael to Nome appears to be marked, but is not identified.
