Description
English: Wood engraving illustration for the story "Five Days in Prison for Murder" by R. K. Hervey, Once a Week magazine, volume 8, page 533. A story of the Australian gold rushes: the miner known as "the Hatter" has been murdered for his gold, and here, he is discovered with his dog (who will prove to be important in capturing the murderer) by his side.
