Description
English: An autochrome photo of J. Norman Collie, professor of chemistry at University College London taken around 1911-1913. He is sitting next to a lit neon discharge tube, glowing in its characteristic shade of red. Neon was discovered at UCL in 1898 in the building in the background of the photo.
Français : Photo autochrome de J. Norman Collie, professeur de chimie a l'University College London, prise vers 1911-1913. A coté de lui, une lampe néon. Le néon fut découvert a l'UCL en 1898, dans le batiment visible vers l'arriere de la photo.
