Summary

Description
English: Diagram from "Spirit Rapping Made Easy," a series of articles by the conjurer Henry Novra on the tricks employed by fraudulent mediums. Once a Week magazine, volume 3, page 494. In this sketch, a table "floats" on one leg at an apparently unnatural angle, while the objects on top don't slide off. Novra argues that this table has a center of gravity that allows it to balance in this position, supported on the leg-end and castor. The objects don't slide because of their friction with the velvet tablecloth.
