also called Lourdes Hymn or Ave Maria of Lourdes: Popular Catholic Marian hymn, particularly associated with pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes. It was originally written in 1873 by Jean Gaignet to a traditional French tune.

Many original versions have since been written in many languages, and unrelated hymns have also been modified to fit the Lourdes Hymn tune and refrain.
