Marylebone since 1865, Hertford 1852-7, LL.B., Clare Hall, Camb., 1846, steward of Southwark 1884, one of H.M.'s lieutenants for city of London, common serjeant of London 1857-78, knighted 14 March, 1872, author of Law relating to Railways, Metropolitan Building Act, etc., a student of the Middle Temple 28 April, 1837, called to the bar 20 Nov., 1840, Q.C. 25 Feb., 1861, bencher 7 May, 1861, treasurer 1872 (eldest son of Thomas Chambers, Esq., of Hertford); born 17 Dec, 1814; married 7 May, 1851, Diana, dau. of Peter White, Esq.; she died 14 Jan., 1877, leaving issue (see Foster's Baronetage).
