Coll., Camb., 1846, police magistrate at Lambeth police court since 1870, a student of Lincoln's Inn 15 Feb., 1843 (then aged 24), called to the bar 24 Nov., 1846 (3rd son of William Chance, of Birmingham, merchant); born 22 Dec, 1819; married 14 April, 1853, Mary, 2nd dau. of Rev. G. R. Downward, of the Castle, Shrewsbury.
