Emerson, John James, LL.D., Trin. Hall, Camb., 1882, from Shrewsbury School, lord of the manors of Easby, Deighton, and Kirby-in-Cleveland, J.P. Yorks North Riding, a commissioner of income and land taxes for Allertonshire in 1879, a student of the Inner Temple 16 April, 1868 (then aged 20), called to the bar 6 June, 1872 (eldest son of James Emerson, Esq., of Easby Hall, Yorks); born 21 May, 1847; married 20 April, 1876, Frances Mary Eleanor, eldest dau. of late Lt.-Col. Melville Francis Evatt, Bengal staff corps, and has issue.
