Giffard, John Walter de Longueville, county court judge (circuit No. 58) since March, 1883, of circuit No. 12 1875-83, author of Smale and Giffard's Reports and Giffard's {Chancery) Reports, reporter for Incorporated Council 1865-70, undergrad. Merton Coll., Oxon, a student of the Inner Temple 16 Jan., 1839 (then aged 21), called to the bar 19 Nov., 1843 (eldest son of Stanley Lees Giffard, LL.D., bar.-at-law); born , 1818; married , 1849, Emilie, 2nd dau. of late D. B. Scott, Esq., of Ingham, Norfolk.
