Gostling-Murray, Charles Edward, hon. col. 7th South-west Middlesex vols., assumed the surname of Gostling by royal licence 18 May, 1875, J.P., D.L. Middlesex, a student of Lincoln's Inn 20 April, 1846 (then aged 20), went to the Inner Temple 30 May, 1849, where he was called to the bar 8 June 1849, (2nd son of Rev. Edward Murray, rector of married 1st, 21 March, 1850, Emily, only child of late Rev. J. W. Gostling; she died 8 Jan., 1859; he married 2ndly, 10 Dec., 1878, Margaret Frances Elizabeth, only dau. of Rev. John William Conant, of Surbiton, and has issue (see Foster's Peerage, D. Athole).
