Spensley, Howard, solicitor-general of Victoria, Australia, 1871-2, member of the executive council of the colony of Victoria, member of the Board of the agent-general for Victoria in London, a student of the Middle Temple 10 Nov., 1873, called to the bar 28 June, 1876 (eldest son of late William Spensley, of Edmonton, Middlesex, merchant); born 13 July, 1834; married 20 Aug., 1868, Martha Tasmania, dau. of Simon Haughton, of Victoria, Australia, squatter.
