(ref. to Ps. XXVI, 6) ארחיין ולא ארתן דכתיב (v. Ms. M.,
Rabb. D. S. a. l.) it is written erhats (I bathe), and not
arhits (I cleanse), i. e. washing of hands as a symbolical
act is equal to immersion. Y. Keth. V, 30a bot. ומרתצת
וכ׳ לו she must bathe his feet (personally attend to his
foot-bath). Yalk. Cant. 988 וכ׳ ישראל את שמרחיצין who
cleanse Israel from sins; a. e. - 2) to cause to bathe. Num.
R. s. 13 חלב בנחלי ולהרחיצצם . . עתיד the Lord shall
cause themm to drink . ., and to bathe in rivers of millkk.
Sabb. l. c.; Makhsh. l. c. בשבת המרחצת מרחן a bath-
house that allows bathing (is heated and open) on the

house, even if it is not in use.

דחק (b. h.) to be distant, far, removed. Ylamd. to Num. X, 29, quot. inn Ar. (ref. to Ps. LXXIII, 27) שרוחק מי וכ׳ הקבה (ed. Koh. שמתרחק) he who keeps away from the Lord, so as not to repent. Sifre Num. 131 מזרח כרחוק וכ׳ as far as the east is removed from the west; a. e. Pi. רחק, ריחק to remove; to alienate; to reyect, epe; to loathe. B. Kam. 24a top, a. e. נגיחותיו ר׳ if the ox did his gorings in intervals (of three days), opp. קירב. Ib. ראיותיה ריחקה, v. ראיה. Yalk.
