BIWA

Biwa the lake in the east of Kiyoto is a very nice lake with many fine views all round.

The beauties of the lake are eight in number.

First the strange firtree in Karasaki, Second the view of the flying down of wild geese;

Third Awatsu, Fourth the moon lighting night in Autumn in Ishiyama; and Fifth the evening in Sheta; Sixth the boats sailing to Yabashe; Seventh the snow mountain Hira evening sight; Eighth if you go up to the temple Miedera you will see nearly all of them.
