LYONS, Captain Frederick (HONGKONG), Deputy Superintendent of Police; b. Dec. 26, 1855. Entered army as 2nd Lieutenant, 1878; retired as Captain, 1890; since then in reserve of officers: Assistant Superintendent of Police, Singapore, 1891-3; Assistant Commissioner, Perak Sikhs, 1893; subsequently acted as Captain Superintendent of Police and Prisons, Selangor, and Deputy Superintendent of Police, Perak; slightly wounded on chest in an attack on rebels' stockade at Jeram Ampai, Pahang, 1894, a bullet striking pocket book; received thanks of Secretary of State for Colonies, for share in restoring order at Pahang; appointed Deputy Superintendent of Police, Hongkong, 1902; acting Captain Superintendent, 1903-4. Decorations: South African Medal and clasp; Egyptian Medal and Khedive's star. Clubs: Army and Navy; Hongkong. Address: Central Police Station, Hongkong.
