RAMKAMHENG, Major General Phya (BANGKOK), Siamese army; b. Oct. 14, 1864; m. 1892. Educ.: Germany and Austria. Went to Europe in 1877, spent most time in Austria, where began general and military education; joined Military College, Vienna; received Commission as Lieut, in Austiian Army, 1888; served in different Regiments both Infantry and Cavalry; became Captain of Royal Horse Guard in Siamese Army on returning to Bangkok, 1891; in 1882 went to Europe as Military Attache in Germany, Austria, Denmark, Sweden and Norway, and was attached to H.R.H. the Prince of Nakonchaisi, who was then studying in Denmark; appointed Aide-de-Camp to His Majesty the King of Siam during Ms tour in Europe, and accompanied His Majesty back to Siam; appointed Honorary Aide-de-Camp and afterwards assistant Chief of General Staff with Rank of Lieut-Colonel; promoted to present rank, 1905; is officer Commanding Troops in Bangkok District.
