Was for several years pastor at Siegburg and Terbelenburg, Germany, and teacher at Middle School of latter city; came out to Japan as Missionary of General Evangelical Protestant Missionary Society of Berlin, 1S95; worked the years in Tokyo before coining to Kyoto.
