Pass by, as you look so like me
In letting your look so drop
I did just the same, much likely …
I prithee, wayfarer, stop!

Some poppies or daisies greener
Let have in your posy strung
See the inscription Marina,
A girl of twenty years young

Don’t think here’s a grave uncanny,
Don’t think it as ghost I haunt –
I let my wild laughter carry
At times when they said I can’t!

And fair were my tresses curly
And blood set my face aflame …
I prithee, wayfarer, tarry
For me who once lived the same!

You bend for a sappy wildling
Or berries to follow suit:
You’ll spend many years in finding
A sweeter than graveyard’s fruit

Don’t stand yet in gloom, unlively
And low hang your head don’t let
And think of me ever lightly
And lightly do me forget

Through gossamer veils so golden
You look, all in sunset glow …
And cower not so, but bolden
At hearing my voice from below
