THOMAS BEVIS, Esq.

Obtained his first commission on the 24th Sept. 1806; and was slightly wounded while serving as senior lieutenant of the Galatea frigate. Captain Woodley Losack, in action with a French squadron near Madagascar, May 20th, 1811[1]. He continued in the same ship until July 1814; and subsequently served as first lieutenant of the Bombay 74, Captain Henry Bazely, and Euryalus 42, Captain Thomas Huskisson, off the Azores, and on the Mediterranean and West India stations. He was advanced to his present rank on the 3d Aug. 1829.
