BECKENHAM, bĕk'en-am. A town in Kent, England, 8¾ miles southeast of London, with two stations on the London, Chatham and Dover Railway (Map: England, F 5). The municipality owns an electric-lighting plant and public baths and maintains a technical institute. Population, in 1891, 20,700; in 1901, 26,300.
