Youth, 19, to Try Today For Record U.S. Hop. Westfield, New Jersey; August 11, 1930 (Associated Press) Eddie Schneider, 19, Jersey City High School graduate, announced today he will take off at dawn tomorrow from the local airport in an attempt to break the transcontinental speed records set two months ago by the late Frank Goldsborough.
