UK notification on the EU–UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement

WHEREAS the Trade and Cooperation Agreement between the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, of the one part, and the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community, of the other part, was signed at Brussels and London on 30 December 2020;
AND WHEREAS Article 783 of the said Agreement provides that this Agreement shall enter into force on the first day of the month following that in which both Parties have notified each other that they have completed their respective internal requirements and procedures for establishing their consent to be bound;
AND WHEREAS the said Agreement applies by virtue of Article 774(1)(b) to the territory of the United Kingdom and by virtue of Article 774(2) to the Bailiwick of Guernsey, the Bailiwick of Jersey and the Isle of Man to the extent set out in Heading Five of Part Two and Article 520 of the said Agreement;
AND WHEREAS the procedures necessary to this end have been completed by the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Bailiwick of Gurensey, the Bailiwick of Jersey and the Isle of Man;
NOW THEREFORE the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, having considered the aforementioned Agreement, hereby notifies in accordance with Article 783 thereof completion of the necessary internal requirements and procedures for the purpose of entry into force of this Agreement in respect of:
- The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
- The Bailiwick of Guernsey
- The Bailiwick of Jersey
- The Isle of Man
and undertakes faithfully to perform and carry out all the stipulations therein contained.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF this Instrument is signed and sealed by Her Majesty’s Principal Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs.
