The double horizontal rule[edit]

To get this:

use this code:

<hr style="width:5em; height:2px; margin: 0 auto; border-style:solid; border-width: 2px 0 1px; background-color:inherit; color:black" />

Notes: The horizontal rule is actually a box, not a single line that goes across the page. So, the border-width property is set to 2px top, 0px right/left, and 1px bottom. Wikisource defaults to a gray background, so we inherit the background color of the container above it. And, the default color of the border is gray, so we change that to black.
