Wage-Labor and Capital was originally a lecture on political economy by Karl Marx and presented to workers' organizations in 1847. They were later published in April 1849 as multiple articles in the Neue Rheinische Zeitung. After the death of Marx, the work was revised by Friedrich Engels and was published in 1891 in Germany with a new introduction also written by Engels.
