tripple not triple

couldn't it mean tripple, not triple, as in trippling water? Tfine80 (talk) 13:12, 3 July 2011 (UTC)

I haven't heard of that word, but then again, I'm not very verbose. Contextually, what you suggest would fit, certainly moreso than "triple phenomenom." However, a quick search for the term did not yield any results for tripple or trippling. Unsure what to do. Leaving Urban Dictionary aside, the only reasonable meaning I can find for "tripple" is a South African word for a horse's gait [1]. The wider context of the paragraph concerned seems to be about the "three arts ... the sonata, the poem and the picture combined." This suggests to me that the word "triple" was intended.

Personally, I find the output from {{SIC}} ugly and prefer to use {{sic}} immediately after the word as a note to editors who might go to fix the "error." Beeswaxcandle (talk) 09:45, 4 July 2011 (UTC)

I too think that the dashed underline of{{SIC}} is less than perfect, but I still use it; I prefer the reader (who does not edit) to be aware that we have not mistyped something. I hope that if some annotation on/off switch is implemented, the work will appear much cleaner when "off." - Theornamentalist (talk) 21:18, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
