Disambiguation[edit]

Hi Mandarasa,

When we have multiple editions of a single work we usually disambiguate their page titles using the year in parenthesis and create a "versions page" to help users navigate. In this setup, the versions page corresponds conceptually to the work while the individual disambiguated pages correspond to editions.

So, e.g., instead of Memoir of the Reverend David Wilson (1) and Memoir of the Reverend David Wilson (2), we would place these at Memoir of the Reverend David Wilson (1823) (the 1823 edition) and Memoir of the Reverend David Wilson (1825) (the 1825 edition) and then create a versions page at Memoir of the Reverend David Wilson (the work). I have moved the pages accordingly for you (there are soft redirects left behind at the old names that will be deleted in about 3 months).

PS. In case you're not familiar with talk pages on Wikisource: most pages on the site have an associated talk page on which relevant discussions can be conducted. This page, located at User talk:Mandarasa is the talk page associated with your user page (think, roughly, "profile page"). All messages left here are intended for you, even though some of them may be automated (this one isn't: hi, I'm a human 😎), and you can reply by hitting the "edit" link in the section heading. I've watchlisted this page so edits to it will show up on my list of changes at Special:Watchlist (but I have to look specifically for them). If you want to specifically catch my attention you can use the wikicode {{ping|Xover}} which will send me a notification similar to the one you just got about there being a new talk page message. We also have various community-wide pages we use for discussions and I highly encourage you to make use pf them. In particular, Wikisource:Scriptorium/Help is a venue for asking for help, guidance, opinions etc. on various editing and proofreading issues. Please don't hesitate to post a message there if you're uncertain how best to do something. The community here is usually a pretty friendly and helpful bunch.
