"Georgie" (1906)
by Dorothea Deakin, illustrated by Clarence F. Underwood
New York: The Century Co., 1906. Some or all of the stories were previously published individually in various magazines icluding Century, and Smart Set. May be read either as a series of connected short stories, or as a novel.

The "hero" of this tale simply could not help getting engaged to every pretty girl he met. Moreover, the pretty girls not only fell victim to his irresponsible love-making, but continued to like and admire him after the inevitable break came. [Description from the review in the Outlook Nov 17 1906. Full review(s) in the Discussion page.]
