XXIV. GOOD KING ARTHUR

King Arthur was a worthy king,
As ancient bards do sing;
He bought three pecks of barley meal,
To make a bag pudding.

A bag pudding the queen she made,
And stuffed it full of plums,
And in it put great lumps of fat
As big as my two thumbs.

The king and queen sat down to dine,
And all the court beside,
And what they could not eat that night
The queen next morning fried.
