CAINIANS, a denomination which sprang up about the year 130, so on account of their great respect for Cain. They pretend that the virtue which had produced Abel was of an order inferiour to that which had produced Cain; and that this was the reason why Cain had the victory over Abel and killed him.

The morals of this denomination were said to be very defective.[1]
