*HELLENISTS, Jews who speak the Greek language. Acts vi. 1.[1] To such we are indebted for the Greek version of the old testament, commonly called the Septuagint, or the version of the seventy. Others think they were Grecian proselytes to the Jewish religion, Grecian Jews.[2]
