BOURNE (THOMAS), bookseller in London; Bedlam [i.e., Bethlehem Hospital], 1628-71. Took up his freedom January 15th, 1623. [Arber, iii. 685.] Smyth in his Obituary, p. 91 thus records the death of this bookseller "19 June 1671. Thomas Bourne bookseller at Bedlam (my old acquaintance) died hora 8 pt merid.; his corps carried from Lorimer's Hall to Bottol. Bishopsgate, Thurs., June 22, and there buried, with the service of the common prayer, though he died a recusant" The only book in which his name has been found is an edition of the Articles of Visitation of the Bishop of Chichester, in the year 1628.
