BROOKE (NATHANIEL), bookseller in London, (1) Angel, Cornhill; (2) At the Angel, in the second yard going into the Exchange from Bishopsgate Street 1646–77. This bookseller must not be confused with Nathan Brooks, who was tried and convicted at the Old Bailey in 1664 for publishing seditious books. An extensive list of Nathaniel Brooke's publications will be found in Gray's Index to Hazlitt.
