אטליא, אטליון, v. איטליא.
אטליז, איטליז, אטלס, איטליס m. (טלל, with format. or ס; cmp. אושפיז; v. טלל II, טלל I, II) a number of booths put up for a mercantile fair, or for popular entertainments; whence (cmp. חנות) shops, bazaar (v. esp. Gen. R. s. 79, quot. bel.). Hull. 91b אמאוס של א׳ the fair of Emmaus. Pesik. Asser p. 98b. Arakh. VI, 5 (24a) אם לאיטלס אותה ממתינין if they delay the sale for the market day; a. fr. -- Pl. אטלסין &c. Gen. R. s. 79 (ref. to ויחן and he encamped'smade a חנות Gen. XXXIII, 18) Jacob was the first א׳ מעמיד Ar. (ed. also הטלסין, v. הטליס) to put up stores and sell cheap; [Koh. R. to X, 8; Est. אטלקותא f. (טלק) being thrown. Targ. Job. III, באטלקותיה (Var. איטל׳) on his being thrown.
אטם (b. h.; sec. r. of טמם) to obstruct, close, fill up. Part. pass. אטום, f. אטומה 1) filled up, solid. Zeb. 61b באדמה א׳ iilled up with earth, opp. הלול. Hull. 47b א׳ בריאה v. אוטם. Y. B. Bath. II, 13c top א׳ כותל a solid wall. -- 2) (cmp. טומטום) stumped, shapeless. Nid. 24a א׳ גוף the stump of a human budy (of the embryo). Ib. א׳ שגולגלתו את an embryo whose scull is a shapeless ump (no scull discernible). Y. ib. III, 50d top. -- rnsf. Snh. 44b עונות אוטם he locks up the sins (makes them invisible, cmp. טמן); v. איטמון.
אטמא (איטמא) m. (v. foreg.) something solid, whence the solid part, flank. Targ. II, Esth. I, 2. -- B. Mets. 23b דא׳ אי דדפנא אי Ar. (ed. דא׳ או דדפקא או, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 3) whether from the ribs or from the flank. Hull. 42b דא׳ בוקא the thickest part of the fllank (the thigh, hip). - B. *אטקטיא, prob. אטקטין or אטקטי m. pl. (~~~~~~) undisciplined, irregular troops. Pesik. Ekhah p. 122b eexplaining 'thy princes are rebels Is. I, 23) אדוניך א׳ מזיינין דהוו מדיונים thy lords are rebels'-- for they equipped irregulars. [This seems to be the proper ver- sion restored f om Ar. a. Var.; v. Pesik. l. c. note 75.]
אטר, איטר m. (b. h. אטר, v. Hebr. Dict.), sub. ימינו יד one whose right hand is tied up or unfit for labor; left-handed. Sabb. 103a יד אי׳. Men. 37a only א׳. Tosef. Bekh. V, 8 וכ׳ בידיו בין א׳; Bekh. 45b וכ׳ ביד בין א׳ one either left-handed or left-legged (v. Rashi a. l.).
אטרבוליס pr. n. pl. Tripolis, on the coast of Phenicia. Y. Sabb. III, 6c top; (Bab. ib. 45b &idon).
אטרוגא, איטרוגא m. (v. אתרוגא) orange (tree, a. fruit). Targ. Cant. II, 3 (h. text תפוח, some ed. ת׳). Y. Ab. Zar. II, 41a bot.

אטרי, אטריתא f. (נטר; cmp. הטרי a. טרית) prop. something preserved, hence dough preserved, vermicelli. וY. Hall. I,, 57d bot. as I intend making א׳ אצוותי my dough into vermicelli. Y. Bets. I, 60d וכ׳ אטריתא הדא to make vermm (on Holy Days), if or drying them, it is forbidden &c.

אי II, אי I (=אין; h. אם; cmmp. או) 1) if, whether. Targ. Cant. VII, 13; a. e. --Ber. 2a, a. fr. הכי אי (abbrev. א״ה) if this be so (introducing an Irguumcit against one's opinion). -- R. Hash. 3a וכ׳ משמש כי khi has four meaning~i אי if, &c. -נמי־ אי (abbrev. א״נ) a) if you choose, it mey also be said; or. B. Mets. 98a; a. fr. -- b) even if, v. נמי.
