איסטבא, איסטווא, אס, איצ, אצ (also ה-. a. with one ו) m. (Ispe. noun of סב, סבב=h. איסטיב q. v., b. h. מסב; v. איסי) a surrounding, attachment, whence 1) balcony, colonnade, portico (also an independent colon- nade), esp. הא׳ the Itst'ba (Ist'ba) the Temple portico. Pes. I, 5 ( 1b) האיצ׳ גג על Ms. M. (Bab. ed. incorr. גב, Var. אסטוה, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note). Ib. 13b one recited גב על on top (inside) . . . ., say הא׳ גג על on the roof of the Its. (so as to expose it to public view). Y. Sabb. I, 2d bot. וכ׳ איסטוה; Bab. 7a העמודים שלפני איצ׳ a balcony in front of the columns (projecting into the street, used as a stand for dealers, v. איסטיב).
