איצא I m. (אוץ) ozier, prickly twigs. Gitt. 69b א׳ וכ׳ רטיבא (Ar. אצא) green twigs with which the river is dammed in (figur. for diarrhea stobped). Cmp. הוצא.
איצא II איצצא m., איצצתא f. (אוץ, אצץ) 1)sgueeziug, pressure. Yeb. 121b top, מזקי איצצא אגב (Ar. איצא) on account of the pressure (which the falling person exercises on the serpents in the pit) they injure him. Sabb. 144b איצצא בתר דאתי Ar. (ed. איצצתא; Ms. M. איציצא) (the juice) which oozes out of the grapes through the pressure of their non weight. M. Kat. 11a salted fish made ft for immediate use א׳ אגב by squeezing (and washing) out the salt. -- Pl. איצצי. Ib. א׳ שיתין sixty times pressed and washed. -- 2) trnsf. depression, depre- ciation in the market; [oth. opin. deterioration of qual- ityl. איצטדין f. (orig. m. pl., Ithp. of צדי q. v.; sub. שדה &c.) 1) a place ful of ruins. Y. Erub. II, 22b את וכ׳ כילו הא׳ את רואה you look upon the debris near Tiberias as &c. (cmp. אלסיס). a*רl. איצטדינין. B. Bath. p0גb מהו א׳ if the stones in the field are debris, how is it? [Comment. diff]-- 2) cacophemism for theatre (a place of destruction).
