דיהודאי אלההון the God of the Jews. Y. Snh. X, 28b. -- Pl. (also plur. majest.) אלהין. Dan. II, 11; a. e. -- אלהיא. Jer. X, 11. Targ. Ps. CXXXVI, 2 אלהיא אלהי the God of gods. [Gen. R. s. 26 וכ׳ א׳ גנבו כומריא (read אלהון) when priests rob-- who would swear by their god?] Ib. (ref. to Gen. VI, 2). -- Lev. R. s. 33 אלהייא . . .. קריין תמן there (in Rome) they call their kings gods.
אלהות, אלוהות f. (v. preced.) Deity, divinity. Gen. R. s. 46 לאלוהותו העולם.כדי שאין the universe and what it contains, are but inadequate manifestations of his divinity; a. e. Ib. s. 66 אלוהותו לך ויתן (some ed.) may he impart to thee his divine power; v. next w. -אלוהות־, v. אלוה.

אלווין (עלויים, עלואין) m. pl. (v. אלוא) the herbaceous plant aloe, a kind of cress. Y. Shebi. IV, 35b bot.; Tosef. ib. I, end (ed. Zuck. עלוא׳, oth. ed. עלויין, עלווין) וכ׳ הא׳ את ומקיימין you may (in the Sabbath year) let the aloe grow on the top of the roof, but you must not water it.
אלוויתא, אלווייתא f. ch. (=h. לויה) escort, recep- tion on arriving and leaving. Y. Maasr.
