גרביתא f. (גרב) the scouring or sweeping (wind); ׳ רוחא North-wind. Targ. Prov. XXV, 23 (hh. text צפון). Ib. xXXVII, 16 גרביתא, גרביי׳ (h. text צפן צפניה).
גרבל (Parel of גבל) to knead, roll. Gitt. 69a וניגרבל קיטמא Ar. (ed. וניגד׳, corr. acc.) let him roll (the wicks) in the ashes.
גרבן, v. רב II ch.
גרבתא f. (euphem. transpos. of גברתא, v. גבר 3) ab- normal length of the membrum virile. Bekh. 44b, v. next w.
גרבתן m. (v. preced.) one having an abnormally long membrum (one of the blemishes unfitting for priestly service). Bekh. 44b קיק בעל זה הג׳ (for Mish. גבר בעל). Ib. בגיד ג׳ בביצים קיק בעל Ar. baal kik refers to the testicles, g'rabtan to the membrum (ed. וכ׳ גרבתא . . . קיין, V. preced.).
גג, Pa. גריג (=גרגר) to be rough, to roughen, whence 1) to incite, stir up. Targ. Prov. X, 12; XXIX, 22 (h. .J text ערר, גרה). Ib. VI, 3 חברך הכיל גרג ed. Lag. (Var. הביל, חביל) stir up, now, thy friend (for whom thou hast vouched), v. Peshitto a. Syr. Hexapla. -- 2) to be excited, impatient. Targ. Ps. XXXVII, 1; 7; 8 (Ms. תגרג Pe., h. text תתחר). - 3) (v. P. Sm. 773, s. v. גרג 2, cmp. גרגותני, ארוכה II) to cover with scurf, hcal up. Targ. Job XXX, 24 מחתיה יגרג he will heal up the wound he has inficted.

גרגותא, גרגיתא, גרגריתא . (=גלגליתא, v. גלגלא, cmp. גרור) whecl work, wel for irrigating fields. Ber. 58a; B. Bath. 91b (prov.) וכ׳ ג׳ ריש אפי׳ (Ber. ed. גרגי׳, Ms. M. גדגיד׳, corr. acc., v. Rabb. D.S. a. l.) even a superintendent of the well(cmp. בייר) is appointed in heaven. B. Kam. 27b. B. Mets. 103a if one says, 'Lend nme ג׳ ההיא the use of this well', he may restore &c.; ג׳ בי 'a place (in the field) for a well', --he may go on digging wells until he strikes one that suits him. B. גרגותני (גרגתני Ar.) f. (v. גורגא) 1) a wicker or net work in the wine or oil press. Ab. Zar. 56b לגת ג׳ החזיר if he placed the net (once used) back into the vat. Hag. 22b גורג׳ some ed.; Tosef. ib. III, 4. Lev. R. s. 22 he gathered the vessels of the Temple ג׳ לתוך ונתנן and placed them in a net; Gitt. 56b he took the curtain ג׳ כמין ועשאו and shaped it like &c. Tosef. Kel. B. Mets. VI, 5. -- 2) (from its shrivelled surface) the scarry and lifeless surface of a healed up wound, eschar. B. Kam. 85a ג׳ מכתו העלתה if, through neglect of medical advice, the wound became scabby; Y. ib. 6b bot. [read] ג׳ בו עלתה.

גרגלידא m. (=גלגליד; גלד) slice; דליפתא ג׳ a slice of turnip, esp. the upper slice. Bekh. 43b one whose head resembles דל׳ לגרגלידה Ar. (ed. לגדגלידא, corr. acc.) the upper portion &c. (expl. לפתם ib. VII, 1). -- Pl. גרגלידי. Ber. 39a (Ar. גורג׳). Ib. 56a (Var. in Ar. לפתות ראשי). Keth. 61a.
גרגף, v. גדף. גרגר, גירגר 1) (denom. of גרון, גרגרת) to pour down the throat, opp. שתה to set the lips to the vessel. Par. IX, 4; Tosef. ib. IX (VIII), 6. -- *itt. 89a גירגרה בשוק if she quats outdoors; [Rashi; walks with out- stretched neck (גרון)]. -- 2) denom. of גרגר) to pick single berries. Maasr. II, 6 ואוכל מגרגר he may pick grapes (from the hanging cluster) and eat; ib. III, 9; Y. ib. II, 50a top. -3) (denom. of גרוגרת) to let the olive shrivel (on the ttree or in the sun on the roof), to mark out for shrive- ling. Ex. R. s. 36 that olive -while it is yet on its tree, אותו מגרגרין they mark it out for shrivelling (in order to use it for the press). Men. VIII, 4 הזית בראש מגרגרו he lets it shrivel on the ttop of the olive tree; בראש מג׳ הגג in the sun on the roof; [for oth. opin. v.
