דיש, דייש m. (b. h.; דוש) treading, threshing. Meil. 13a (ref. to בדישו, Deut. XXV, 4) וכ׳ שלך דישו what the ox threshes of thine own, but not of sacred property; Y. Ter. IX, 46c bot. לך מותר שהוא בד׳. Tosef. Kel. B. Mets. IV, 3 הדיי׳ מקום the threshing place. Gen. R. s. 69, a. e. עפר מה לכל ד׳ עשוי as the dust is trodden upon by all. --- B. Mets. 90b הוא בדישו לאו he did not muzzle it in the threshing place.

דישון, דשון m. (דשן) removal of ashes, cleaning. Yoma 21a הפנימי מזבח ד׳ the ashes removed from the inner altar, המנורה ד׳ the snuffs of the candlesticks. Ib. 33a וכ׳ מזבח ד׳ the cleaning of &c. Tam. III, 9.
