הורה I f. conception, v. הורת.
הורה II f. (b. h.; v. הור) [mother,] (homiletically) teaching. Cant. R. to III, 4 (interpget. הורתי חדר, ib.) זה בהורייא . . אה״מ that means the Tabernacle, for from there issued the obligation of Israel to abide by legal decisions; Lev. R. s. 1; Cant. R. to II, 3, v. next w.
הוריה, הורייה, הוראה f (ידח, Hif.) decision, instruction; teacher's or judge's office. Y. Ber. הורת or הורה f. (denom. of Hofal of הרה) con- ception, being conceived. Snh. 58a, a. fr. בקדושה שלא הורתו he was conceived in an unhallowed condition (when his mother was a gentile). Ex. R. s. 1 בדרך הורתה she was conceived on the road. Ib. בצער שלא הורתה מה as she conceived without pain; a. fr.
הושטה f. (ישט) reaching over, handing over, opp. הולכה q. v. - Y. Sabb. VII, 10d עמהון ה׳ תנינן לא ולמה why is not reaching an object over (from one territory to another) counted among the labors forbidden on the Sabbath? Zeb. 14a ידו הושטת כדי as far as one may reach over with his hand (without moving from his place).
הושן m., only in pl. constr. פשתתן הושני flaxstalks in an intermediate station of preparation, contrad. to אניצי a. הוצני (v. אנין a. הוצן). Succ. 12b יודע איני פ׳ בה׳ Ms. M. (v. Rabb. D. S. a. l.) if one covered the Succah with hosh'neh . . ., I do not know (whether or not the Succah is kasher). Ib. מהן א״י עצמן פשתן וה׳ Ms. M. (v. Rabb. D. S. a. l.) nor do I know what hosh'ne . . . are (in which stage they are called so).
הושעה f. (ישע) relief, delivery. Yalk. Num. 725.

הזאה, v. הזיה.
הזדה f. (זוד) wilful act; use of the stem זוד in the Biblg text. Snh. 16a וכ׳ ה׳ ה׳ אתיא an analogy is drawn between the law concerning the false prophet (יזיד Ieut. XVIII, 20) and that concerning the rebellious elder (בזדון, ib. XVII, 12). Ib. וכ׳ כתיבא כי ה׳ והא but is not the term 'wilfulness' used in connection with death penalty?
הזוטו, v. זוט.
הזיה, הזייה, הזאה f. (נזה) sprinkling of the blood of sacrifices, of the water of purification upon the unclean. Zeb. V, 1 וכ׳ ה׳ טעון ודמן and their blood must be sprinkled on the space between the bars &c. -- Y. Ber. V, 9d top כשרה הזייתו the rite of sprinkling which he performed is valid. Pes.
