הימ־ prefx (=b. h. ממ) from, of. הימני from me; הימך from thee; הימנו, הימנה from him, her (it). Ned. 9a he said הימנ עלי הרינו ׳I will be' (a Nazir), 'upon me' (shall the vow of an offering rest), and 'from it' (I will abstain). Keth. 27b מהימנה חון except herself. Y. Shebi. VIII, 38a bot. וכ׳ הימינו לוקחין אין (Bekh. IV, 7, sq. ממנו, Talm. 29b ה׳ interch. with ממנו) you must not buy of him &c. Gen. R s. 87 הימנה למעלה on top of it (the bed). Ib. s. 38 הימנו ויצילך and save thee from it (the fire); a. fr. -- הימנו כל לא not all depends on him, i. e. he has no right, it is not in his power. Ib. וכ׳ לבור הימנו כל לא He had no right to choose for Himself the heavens &c. Num. R. s. 4 וכ׳ ליתן לומר הימך לא you had no right to order &c. Ex. R. s. 15 וכ׳ הימך וכל have you a right to say &c.? v. כל.

הימינא, v. המיינא.
הימיסיון, הימסיון, הימוס׳, read; חמיתיסטיון or אמיתיסטיון m. (d.etiqaoי, dim. of ~u~tlo~o~) ame- thyst, a jewel in the Highpriests' breast-plate. Ex. R. s. 38, end (v. LXX Ex. XXVIII, 19).
*הימלטא, המלטא m. c. הימלטי denom. of מלט, v. מלטט) the casings for the beams in wal openings. B. Bath. 6a המלטא ביה דמנח אעג Ar. (ed. Koh. המלטה, Ms. M. חמולט׳ ביה דמתנח, ed. הימלטי ליה דעביד) although he placed sills thereon (intimating that the neighbor may in future rest beams on them). V. מעזיבה.
הימלתא, המלתא, אמלתא f. (חמל=המל) (heat- ing spice.] preserved ginger. Ber. 36b וכ׳ דאתיא המ׳ האי (Ms. M. חמ׳, marginal correction הימ׳); Yoma 81b הי׳ (Ms. M. הו׳, Var. חמ׳, אמ׳, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. notes) that preserved ginger coming from India; cmp. חמ.
הימן, הימין (Af. ofאמן;=h. האמין) to credit, trust, confide; to loan on trust; to admit as evidence. Targ. O. Gen. XV, 6. Targ. ib. XLV, 26; a. fr. -- B. Kam. 115a הימוני הימניה he loanedhim on trust (without a pawn). Keth. 22b תרי כבי דבנן המנוה the Rabbis declared his evidence as legal as if there had been two witnesses. Shebu. 41b הימניה לדידיה לא he did not trust him by himself (with- out witneeses). Y. Ber. II, 4c top הימנית דברישך לאילין I trusted those (T'fillin) on thy head; a. fr. -- PPart. pass. מהימן (=h. נאמן) faithful, reliacle; credited, admitted as evidence. Targ. Num. XII, 7 (Y. II הימן); a. fr. - Sabb. 10b מהימנא אלהא דמתרגמינן for we translate (Deut. VII, 9) &c. (only the participle being used as a divine attribute, not the abstract noun). -Keth. 27b מהימנא she is admitted &c. Ib. מהימני (corr. acc.). Y. Gitt. V, 47a [read] נש בר בעי מ׳ ומתקרי׳ כמה מיתן a man would sacrifice any amount in order to be called trustworthy; Y. B. Kam. IV, 4b bot. הימן; a. fr. - B. Mets. 86b לך מהימנא לא (ed. (מהימ אנא, part. act.) I do not trust thee (Mss. ביה הימן לא he (Abraham) did not rely on him).

הימנותא, הימנו f. (הימן) trust, confidence, faith. Targ. Y. Gen. XV, 6; a. fr. -- B. Mets. 15b, a. fr. דליקו בהימנותיה (דליקום) to keep up his reputation for honesty (his credit). Ib. 86b בעבדי ה׳ לית no reliance can be placed on servants. -- As an affirmation faith on my word Ned. 49b וכ׳ בידא ה׳ my word in the hand of this woman, i. e. I pledge thee my word. Soh. 38b בידך ה׳ Ms. M. I assure thee (ed. בידן ה׳ we have the evidence in our hands). -Sabb. 10b וכ׳ ה׳ למימר שרי it is permitted to say 'faithb in an unclean place, v. הימן.

*הימנית f. (הימן) reliable, steady; ה׳ רוח even- tempered disposition, opp. קפדנית rash. Yalk. Num. 776 (quoted fr. Sifre Zuta).

הימצא m. (=h. חמש, v. Nold. Mand. Gr. p. 46) the fat around the large stomach of ruminants; ה׳ בר the fat covering the less curved side of the large stomach (opinions undecided). Hull. 49b Ar. (ed. חי׳ a. חי׳ בר).
הימצותא, v. חימוצתא. הין 1) yes, v. הן. - 2) (=b. h. הן) beholdl, now. Sifra Vayikra, Hobah, ch. XI, Par. 8 וכ׳ האומר אם הין now, if he who speaks (seducing to idolatry) is not punishable, how can he &c.? (Yalk. Lev. 470 only האומר אם).
