ושט m. (ישט) [something stretched and narrow,] ) gullet. Hull. III, 1 הו׳ נקובת an animal whose gullet is found to have been perforated. -- Nidd. 23b נקוב ושטו if the infant's gullet is perforated (there being a hole in the throat); אטום ו׳ if its gullet is closed; a. fr. -- Yalk. ותק, Pa. ותק (privative verb, v. ותיק; cmp. עתק Targ. Lam. III, 4) to unnerve (v. ויתק); to break, shatter. Targ. I Kings XIX, 11 מוותק Ar. Ms. quoted in Buxt. s. v. (ed. מפרקין).
ותר, וותר (v. יתר) to be plentiful. Y. Succ. V, 55c (ref. to Jer. II, 13) לאלף וותר הא (not וותרה) were they not numerous up to a thousand?; Cant. R. to I, 6 הא למאד וותרו (read; למאה). Pi. ויתר 1) to do more than justice requires, to be liberal; to forego one's rights. Y. Ned. I, beg. 39a if they had agreed לוותר מנת על to yield their rights (to allow each other the use of the entire court). B.
